Hydrogenating CM-UC3M is a project funded by the Comunidad de Madrid and led by a research group from the Carlos III of Madrid University. With this website we start communicating our scientific progress related to the adoption of new energy sources in the field of aviation.
The aviation sector needs to make substantial changes in the short term to meet its global warming reduction goal. According to the latest European Community vision document, the EU supports powertrains using alternative energy sources, such as electricity and/or hydrogen, instead of kerosene.
In this way, CO2 emissions would be reduced or even eliminated, which would be a win-win strategy (in terms of cost and environment).
In HYDROGENATING we aim to exploit Artificial Intelligence techniques and demonstrate that they can be used effectively to find climate-optimal trajectories for H2-powered aircraft, paving the way towards climate-neutral aviation from both form both CO2 and non-CO2 perspectives.
